Connecting to Congress Study

Connecting to Congress is an independent, non-partisan research initiative led by the Ohio State University. Our mission is to help elected officials hear from a representative cross-section of their constituents, not just from the loudest voices. We facilitate deliberative small-group forums on emerging issues amongst constituents, then report the common ground as well as any concerns of constituents to your Representative in Congress. Your Representative, Mary Gay Scanlon, is collaborating with our research initiative because he/she is eager to hear the considered opinion of constituents on workforce development.

How it works: In order to participate in one of these special, invite-only online forums we ask that you first take a pre-survey, which you can access through the link below. You will receive a $5 online gift card for completing this survey. After you complete this initial survey, you will receive an email with information about the issue and a link to join one of these Common Ground for Action forums. During these 90-minute forums, participants weigh various options for addressing the issue, as well as their tradeoffs. When our forum series is complete, the data will be analyzed and reported on to Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon.

If you participate in this forum, you will receive an additional $10 added to your online gift card.
