Welcome, JJ! As a junior private investigator, you investigate art theft and forgery cases for a PI agency. Every day, your boss assigns you a new case.

Gather evidence, explore mysteries, and help your boss solve her cases!

To work on your case, you need to:

  1. Find leads to witnesses in your notebook. Call and ask them questions on the telephone.
    • Every time you complete a phone call, the clock advances by half-an-hour. Your work day ends at 5:00, so plan your time carefully.
    • You may only ask each witness one question, so you’ll have to choose what to ask.
    • Mike, your co-worker, can also call witnesses and ask questions for you. You can give a lead to him instead of making the call yourself.
    • Phone calls may result in documents that can be used as evidence for your final report.
    • Flip between pages of your notebook by clicking the arrows at the bottom.
  2. Retrieve faxes and witness statements from the mailroom.
    • Scrutinize each document and select the best conjecture based on the evidence it contains.
    • Documents may point to more witnesses and clues. Check your notebook for any new leads.
    • Change your interpretation at any time by picking up the document again.
    • Carry documents between rooms for filing, faxing, or shredding.
  3. File relevant documents in the evidence folder on your desk.
    • Documents in your folder will be included with your final report.
    • Keep the documents you want, and shred documents to get rid of them forever.
  4. Complete your report at the end of the day by selecting your final deductions.
    • You cannot send faxes at the end of the day.
    • You can review your documents and change your conjectures while preparing your final report.
    • The success of your final report depends on the amount of evidence you include and the accuracy of your conjectures and deductions.
