Problem Statement

We seek to find innovative ideas to reduce water usage. We solicit ideas that address the following concerns related to water conservation:

• Less than 2% of the Earth’s water supply is fresh water.
• The average person in developed countries uses 7500 liters every day, the average African family uses 20 liters.
• One child loses its life every 8 seconds due to lack of clean drinking water.
• By 2025, two thirds of the global population will run short of fresh drinking water.

We ask you to contribute ideas that help

• individuals, companies, and/or governments to avoid/reduce wasting water;
• increase access to drinking water;
• clean up toxins and reuse waste water;
• harvest rain water.

Evaluation Criteria

Your idea will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

• Novelty: How novel is the idea?
• Value: What is the value of this idea if implemented?
• Feasibility: How easy is it to implement this idea?
• Elaboration: Is the idea is well elaborated?
