Thank you for participating in this study! Your main task will be to hit the spacebar every time you see an enemy (shown below).

Half of the time it will be easy to spot an enemy because some friendly uniforms are dissimilar to enemy uniforms.

However, the other half of the time it will be hard to spot an enemy because some friendly uniforms are similar to enemy uniforms.

As you can see, each character has the same pose. During the trial, characters will rapidly change pose in the center of the screen, so make sure to pay close attention to the uniforms so you can react quickly when a target appears.

Sometimes when you are performing this task, a digit will flash somewhere on the screen. After it flashes, you will be asked to report what, if any, digit you saw. This is an excellent time to take a break if need be.
