Group Decision Making Game
You are invited to participate in a research study on in a web-based online experiment. The experiment is part of a research study whose purpose is to study how individuals in groups collaborate in public goods dilemmas. This study is conducted by Professor Marshall Scott Poole, Department of Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
This study will take approximately 20 minutes of your time.
Your decision to participate or decline participation in this study is completely voluntary and you have the right to terminate your participation at any time without penalty. You may skip any questions you do not wish to answer. If you want do not wish to complete this survey just close your browser.
Your participation in this research will be completely confidential and data will be averaged and reported in aggregate. Possible outlets of dissemination may be various academic peer-reviewed journals. Although your participation in this research may not benefit you personally, it will help us understand the factors that influence decision making in public goods dilemmas.
The decision to participate in this research project is voluntary. You do not have to participate and you can refuse to answer any question. Even if you begin the web-based experiments, you can stop at any time by closing your browser. You can also request to have the Facebook information provided to us be removed at any time by contacting irb@volunteerscience.com.
Your part in this study will be handled in a confidential manner. The data you provide will be stored in an encrypted and highly secure database. Identifying information such as your name, picture, email address, or location will never be shared, published, or revealed for any reason. Researchers at the Army Research Laboratory may have access to experimental research records but not your Facebook data. Any reports or publications based on this research will report only aggregated analyses and will not identify you or any individual as being affiliated with this project.
There are no foreseeable risks or discomforts to you for taking part in this study.
