Informed Consent
A study of group behavior is being conducted at Bar-Ilan University. The purpose of the study is to investigate
people's behavior in case of public good provision.
Plans for Participation
You must be at least 18 years old or older to participate in the study. Your participation will involve participating in
a single game with 30 rounds. Completion of the survey will require approximately 30-45 minutes of your time.
Voluntary Participation/Confidentiality
Your participation in this study is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time. You do not have to answer any question
you do not wish to answer. There are no foreseen risks or discomforts to you by involving yourself in this study. Your
responses will not be matched with your identity and will be anonymous, and your responses to the questionnaire will
be used for research purposes only.
Should you choose to participate, please indicate your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time without penalty.

Welcome to our experiment.
In this experiment you are a part of a group of players. In every game you are given 10 tokens. You will be asked to
decide if you contribute your 10 tokens to the group or keep the 10 tokens to yourself. If 4 players or more choose to
contribute then the group succeeds, and every player of the group gets a reward of 30 tokens. If less than 4 players
choose to contribute then the group fails, and the contributed tokens are lost.
You and the rest of the players do not know the size of the group. Before deciding whether to contribute or to keep the
tokens, you may declare your presence to the group. Players do not know the number of players in the group, but they
are informed how many players chose to declare their presence.
The declaration of presence has no cost.
The declaration of presence costs is PLACEHOLDER tokens.
The game will be played for 30 rounds. The players and the size of the group change from round to round. The size of
the group will be announced in the beginning of each round.
